Our History
Consulting Engineer Services was founded in 1964 by James M. Colangelo, Jr., PE, PP, CME. The company began as a structural engineering firm, and within a few years it was expanded to provide general consulting engineering services. Jim served as President of the NJ State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors and oversaw the licensing of hundreds of current Professional Engineers. He was also engineer to many of New Jersey’s municipalities and counties, and led the firm through several State projects with NJDOT.
Henry J Haley, PE, PP, CME, Emeritus, previous President of CES, spent nearly 40 years with CES and is well known as a leader in land development. His oversight allowed the company to grow and thrive. Under his guidance, numerous landmarks like Main Street in Voorhees, NJ, were designed, approved, and built. Henry still assists with marketing and business development activities, and he is always available to share his knowledge.
